A life-size bronze bull moose, about 8 feet tall, charging over a pile of fallen logs. Eric Thorsen’s dramatic monument is built for lodges, resorts, parks and private estates.

Description

Running Moose is a life-size bronze moose monument by Eric Thorsen. It stands about 8 feet tall and shows a bull moose in full stride. His head is low and pushed forward, his broad antlers are swept back, and his long legs reach out as he charges over a tangle of weathered logs. You can feel his weight and momentum in the pose, the moment a moose crashes through deadfall at the edge of a mountain meadow.

Thorsen sculpts the surface with loose, textured strokes that suggest the moose’s shaggy winter coat. Deep tones on the head and shoulders warm to lighter bronze across the back and flanks. The antlers have a polished golden patina that catches the sun. Underneath, the logs are finished in a cool blue-gray patina that sets off the warm color of the animal above.

Because of its size and presence, Running Moose works well as a centerpiece for a lodge entrance, resort, ranch gate, public park, corporate campus or private estate. It’s cast in bronze for outdoor display and holds up in any season. It can be mounted on natural stone, as in the photo, or on a custom base.
