Description

Moose Laying is a bronze bull moose by Eric Thorsen, measuring 8 inches. The bull rests on the ground with his legs folded beneath him and his head turned to look over his shoulder. A broad set of palmated antlers rises above him, and his long face and heavy muzzle give him the calm, watchful look of a moose bedded down in a willow thicket.

Thorsen models the moose with careful attention to anatomy: the high, humped shoulders, the hanging bell under the chin, the long legs tucked close to the body, and the wide, flat paddles of the antlers. The smooth, flowing surface catches light along the back and flanks, and a rich brown patina brings out the form of the animal.

At 8 inches, this bronze moose sculpture is sized for a desk, bookshelf, side table or mantel in a home, cabin or office. It makes a meaningful gift for hunters, outdoorsmen and anyone who loves the moose of the northern Rockies, Canada and Alaska.
