Bear Fishing from a Rock
A grizzly crouches on a rock, eyes locked on a salmon in the water below. This bronze by Eric Thorsen captures the patience and power of a bear on the hunt, finished in warm patina on a natural stone base.
Description
A grizzly waits on the rock above the water, head down and eyes on a salmon just out of reach. Bear Fishing from a Rock catches the quiet focus of a bear in the moment right before it strikes.
Eric Thorsen sculpted every part of the scene by hand. The bear’s coat is built up in layered, textured strokes, and its weight shifts forward over the ledge. The bronze is finished in warm golden-brown patina tones. A colored salmon glints against the dark stone base, giving the piece a clear focal point and a sense of story.
The piece rewards a close look from every angle. It suits a desk, mantel or shelf, and makes a meaningful gift for anglers, outdoor lovers and anyone who has watched bears work a river in the wild.
