Boot Camp is a bronze full of character and quiet humor. A plump, warty toad has claimed an old, well-worn work boot as his own, settling into the top with his front feet hooked over the edge and gripping the frayed laces as if ready to march off. His bright, bulging eyes gaze upward with a look of perfect contentment, as though this boot was made just for him.

Eric Thorsen sculpted every detail with care, from the bumpy, pebbled skin of the toad to the creased leather, stitched seams, metal eyelets, and scuffed toe cap of the boot. A rich patina of dark bronze with polished highlights brings out the textures and contrasts.
