Crispus Attucks – Life-Size, Monument

Description

Crispus Attucks – American Revolution Monument

Bronze sculpture by Eric Thorsen

On March 5, 1770, Crispus Attucks was killed in the Boston Massacre. He was a sailor and dockworker of African and Native American (Wampanoag) descent, and he is widely remembered as the first person to die in the American Revolution. More than 250 years later, he still stands for courage, resistance to injustice, and the sacrifice of ordinary people in the fight for American liberty.

Sculptor Eric Thorsen honors that legacy with this monumental 6-foot bronze. Thorsen is known for detailed, lifelike figurative work. He captures Attucks with dignity and strength, and the piece shows the resolve of a man whose death helped spark a nation’s fight for independence.

The sculpture is cast in durable bronze, so it can be displayed indoors or outdoors. It’s suited to public parks, civic centers, schools, museums, historical sites, corporate campuses, or a private collection. It works as a commemorative monument, an educational centerpiece, or a tribute to African American and Native American contributions to American history.
