$2,900.00
A sculpted reconstruction of a Kosmoceras ammonite with a ribbed, coiled shell, from Eric Thorsen’s paleobiology series on ancient cephalopods.
Description
Kosmoceras is a kosmoceras ammonite sculpture by Eric Thorsen: a Kosmoceras ammonite with a ribbed, coiled shell. It is part of his paleobiology series on ancient cephalopods.
About This Kosmoceras Ammonite Sculpture
Kosmoceras is a Jurassic ammonite prized by collectors for its ornate, ribbed shell. Fossils show only the shell, so Thorsen’s reconstructions imagine the living animal, its body and tentacles restored around the shell as it might have looked in ancient seas. The series makes a fascinating collection for fossil lovers, museums, classrooms and anyone curious about life in deep time.
